new life in new place... ozie

yes the title is correct... we moved to Oz.. its been a big move for us from bangalore to sydney within 2 quick months... first from bangalore to chennai in the end of May and been there in chennai for a months time and then the big jump to sydney in the end of June... all happened in a spark.. couple of months back we were discussing what we will be doing in ozie.. how we will be settling down.. what difficulties we will be facing.. how we will bring up our son.. should i travel alone or together with my wife and son, etc... etc... and now we are here... settlling down in a better way.. though the cost of living is comparatively high than what we have been used to all these years, we are getting used to it hoping the change will be good for us.. need to figure out how things needs to go in the future with a better planning and financial budgeting.. will keep updating about our ozie life :-)

Authentication Vs Authorization in Web applications

Nice article detailing the differences between Authentication and Authorization in the Web World..

Future of Indian Education...

Seems the discussion about granting access for foriegn universities to open up in India is getting into serious mode now.. this is been there for a long while in paper.. hope this will come to action this year.. with all the parties showing positive signs in accepting this bill, lets expect this will happen soon... lets think about what all pros & cons of having MNU's - Multi National Universities in India ( just like we opened our market for MNC's few years back.. )
+VE
It will create increased Job market for the faculties, administrative & other associated staff,
will power more research capabilites in-house,
will bring in exposure about foriegn education style to our students,
creates competetion among existing universities and colleges and hence increases standards,
will stop migration of talented folks to other countries
-VE
not sure about how the fees structure will be.. if its going to be higher than what the current university mark, then its going to be tough...
how good this will be for rural areas ???
will this bring in more of foriegn faculties in these universities compared to indian prof's...

lets wait and ce... hopefully by the time my son is ready for college in another 15 years, he will have more options of MNU's. and I have more money to pay for it.... :-)
