Rookie HAMILTON on the edge

did anyone thought this little kid will do this ??? to everyone's surprise he is soon goin to be the worlds yongest rookie formula one world champion.. jus another week to see this happen.. even if he misses it to alonso or raikonen , still he has acheived a great feet in his career... last year when karthikeyan from our country made his debut , i was hoping a lot from him.. but the constuctor ( jordan ) didn't support him much to succeed... but later he didn't get a chance again.. and now there are talks goin on to come up with a formula 1 circuit in India... this will definitely be a great progress in our sporting part as this is goin to bring one of the most expensive sport to our country... but still we need to wait atleast a couple of years to see something concrete here.... we have lot of good racers in other grand prix and rallies who needs some good attention from sponsers and should get promoted to F1 level sooner... :-)
once again we need to definitely praise hamilton for whatever he has done in this year F1 racing..

Got my PS3

YES..... after the long wait , i got my PS3.. thanks to my friends short US trip.. he got this cute little black box with loads of features to me last week. I have setup completely and tried all the features in it. played need for speed carbon blue ray ps3 game , tested audio and video modes , internet browsing , used and verified bluetooth and wireless connectivity features... now i m waiting for my LCD TV to use the HDMI capability of my PS3... will take another 15 days to get home the TV... but still i cannot buy the full HD TV of 1080p resolution. the commercial model i am targeting is HD ready ( capable of 720p and 1080i ) which should be closer to the full HD... once this comes home , it will definitely be a much richer experience to play the games in the higher resulution mode.. will update soon after i get this experience... :-)

First 20 20 World Cup

40 years after the First limited overs world cup , here comes the next generation of the game which conquered the whole world , the 20 20 world cup. 12 nations started this in the first level , knocking out 4 in the initial league , the mighty 8 fighting in the secound level and throwing another 4 and the remaining entering into the semis which has set the stage for the best 4 cricketing countries to axe each other and get into the finals. and now i am watching the finals between India and Pakistan , the 2 good old rival asian countries which plays the maximum number of matches a year , teams which has numerous records in its name , which produced lot of players who breath cricket... fighting for the first 20 20 world cup title.. india has knocked out australia ( the world champions in the limited overs game ) and pakistan has thrown out newzealand to get into this final game. india won the toss and played first and scored 157 for 5 in the 20 overs and pakistan is struggling now to reach the target with already 6 witckets gone for the score of 78... i believe and i wish India wins this first ever world cup that will always remains in history of the game as west indies did in 1975...

Yes. Its True

Can you believe the changes happening in our economy.. our indian rupee getting stronger and stronger.. now the dollar value has come down below 40 ( which i mentioned in my earlier blogs) and now the big question is how good our country is goin to use this growth.. how we are going to adapt to this change.. now we are seeing australia and america all in the same range of economy.. the population in america is growing , their inflation is rising , economy is falling.. will this reduce the migration of the population form other countries like ours to this land of fortune.. we just can't purely say that this is based on our development alone... the other way to look into this is US has lost its growth factor in few domains because of of the impact of the wars that Mr.Bush started concentrating and the expenses he made in these areas could have resulted in this situation.. what ever the reason, we are now seeing this growth and now we need to capitalise on this. In parallel we are seeing our stock markets growing at a huge rate which will make the inflow of funds grow and if we keep our import / export in control without major impact of this dollar - rupee calculations , i believe we can do a good job here. recently lot of headlines about this is floating across our country and some of them are reflecting the negative side of this rise, mostly in the domain involving export part of our country and the same resulting in loss of jobs for many people.. hopefully we quickly change our game plan in these areas and start focusing on the various changes like this so that we handle any kind of such situations without major hurdles... :-)

india - ups and downs

some of the recent happenings that makes every indain ( atleast me ) to feel happy are

tennis - the success of sania mirza who broke all the records and entered top 30 in rankings.. wish soon she finds a place in top 10 and then in to top 3...
cricket - the success of indian cricket team in the test series in england which created history... hope indian cricket team proove the same in one day series and in the 20/20 world cup also....
politics - prathiba patil becoming the first women president of india.... though i feel bad that APJ cdnt continue as president , i feel happy that he went back the most valuable post of teaching ... and the success of prathiba also proves one more fact to the world , that how much india respects its women power... the more women grow , the country grows... :-)
space - the achievements of kalpana chawla and sunitha williams has made our country proud in the space world

as this success list goes on , we are seeing lot of downs also in our nation ( both natural and man made ),

the most worst thing that comes to me immediately is the sucide of farmers ( more that 1000 people ) , whom we call the back bone of india. this discourages the agriculture field a lot and soon we may see a food revolution itslef in our country if the same state continues...
the other one is the recent floods in bihar which caused lot of deaths and made lot of people homeless... these floods are affecting some part of the country every year and we see no improvements the next year to protect people from such calamaties.... unlike earth quakes i believe these can be predicted and preventive measures can be taken during the peak monsoons in each of the states atleast to the low lying risky places.... not sure how many years it will take to do this...
though the first 2 are natural defects which we are still trying to fix , the terrorism is growing heavily in our country , a recent report shows after iraq and afgan , its india with most terrorist attacks... and india is concentrating on the US nuclear deal... though i didn't know much about the benifits of this deal , i believe we should concentrate on security and peace deals with global nations than this one... the worse thing in this case is the internal terrorism , inter state issues which makes our security even weaker and opens up lot of holes for others to attack us easily...

i will soon try to post a seperate topic on this internal terrorism which is growing its network heavily in our country... :-(

Rise of Indian Rupee and Fall of US Dollar

Ahhh.... this is the one i am dreaming of for a long time since when i started my carrer a few years ago... i was wondering ( even worrying ) why most of the talented indians are moving to USA for their jobs... then i realized its because of the global exchange rates.... but the recent trend of the US dollar in the gloabl market is showing that we may soon see one more economic revolution ( may be a downfall ) ... infact when i started my carrer i was hit worsly because of the economic slowdon driven by USA globally which made me to wait for almost a year to join in my job... since the company i was supposed to join was in a downfall as most of its US based clients are affected.... then i realized the power of the USA in the global market and was thinking a lot how they were able to reach this position as opposed to Britian who were the global leaders initially....
the below 2 articles explains this topic in more detail....
http://www.rediff.com/money/2007/jun/19rupee.htm
http://www.rediff.com/money/2007/jun/11dollar.htm
but how long this current exchange rate will continue and wether in future it will go down or up is still a billion dollar question.... thought our indian rupee is doing good against the US dollar , we are not doing that good against our competitive developing countries.... our imports / exports and our global business needs to get adjusted to this economic situation quickly to change our countries fortunes.... hope everything goes positively.... :-)

10 years after schooling

i was discussing about my college life with my colleague today and suddenly i got lost in my thoughts and realised that 10 yeards before the same period i finished my schooling and was waiting for my college admissions eagerly... the days are running very fast that in these 10 years lot of things happened in my life some with my control and some without... i finished my college.. changed 2 jobs... got married... became Dad.. moved to a new city... travelled few countries... doing a job completely irrelevant to my studies.... spending most of my time in a day with this idiot box... 10 yrs before i never saw this idiot box in my life... but now its the one with which i am spending most of my life.... when i started my high school i took biology group with the aim of becoming a doctor , but at the end of my high school i got afraid of the numbe of years needed to become a full fledged doctor ( since i am a lazy goose ) and then decided to become an engineer and took electrnics branch in my enginnering with the aim of becoming an elecronics / hardware engineer but my fate continued and i ended up as an software application developer... these thoughts were goin on when my colleage stopped the discussion and we went back to our work... :-)

Invisiblity

long time back in my school days we were craze about a TV show called Invisible Man... this show is all about a man who uses some magic chemical that makes him invisible and he uses his special power of invisiblity to help others... that was a great imagination by the director during that time... and this show kindled my dreams lot of time in which i was becoming invisible and doin lot of crazy things... but as time changes and technology advances now recently i came across an article which says that a research team in Purdue university has designed a optical cloaking device which makes things invisible to visible spectrum for single frequency / wavelenght which they are now trying to expand for all the frequencies / wavelengths... if they achieve sucess in this then my child hood imaginations would become true.. assume what if this becomes a product... i believe soon some company will come forward and fund this project or even take over this team to build this powerfull device making humans invisible and sell it for huge amount... too much of fundoo imaginations coming into my mind as i write this... assume cloning is also achieved completely.... then we can see multiple versions of a single person.. this is in one direction and and with invisiblity we can see no versions of existing persons... this is in opposite direction... and to add more fuel to my imaginations.. if we can achieve cloning then within few years we can achieve cloning persons with more power like people having multiple hands / legs / eyes... and with more than one heart too.... this leads to another topic of preventing death for humans... which I believe can be acheived with the current progress in technology...ooops... this is going way beyond limits.... i hv to stop my imagination now... lets get back to the real world ....
more details about this cloaking is avaiilable in http://www.purdue.edu/uns/x/2007a/070402ShalaevCloaking.html

work - life balance

ha ha... what am i talking about.. this is the recent fancy words ( or infact reasons ) most of the IT engineers are using in their day to day life i.e work life ;-)... what exactly work-life balance means... in my company too lot of initatives are taken from top management teams to ensure the employees enjoys a good work life balance... i m wondering why & how this trend has started ?? if we look into the previous generation jobs - for the fact my Dad was working as a Draftsman in Indian Railways ( central government job )... he enjoyed a great work-life balance without much knowledge on that.. this is because of the regular work timing and the less work pressure he had and the most important thing the self - discipline he maintained in the work.. but the current generation jobs are putting lot of pressure on us and forces us to work more than the regular work timings... and the flexi timing concept which is suppose to help us is making our lifes worse... this flexi timing concept induces the thought that we can come in any time & leave out any time... which automatically makes us to come and go late... as the work pressure increases we tend to come early but going late remains the same.... :-(
i hv seen people in my present ( previous jobs too ) who use to strech more than 12 hours ( even 18 hours too ) in front of the dumb idiot box ( hope u know wat i m refering )..
so to conclude its us who destroyed our work life balance and again its us who are trying to restore it back... to enjoy a good work life balance we need to maintain a self disciple.. we need to understand our work pressure and plan accordingly... never compromise on the personal side... :-O

Proud moment

Today our country's space agency ISRO has acheived a major milestone by launching its indegineous launch vehicle with foriegn payload ( which only very few other countries has done ).. yes what u read is true.. India has launched its PSLV - C8 with an italian satellite and our own satellite into the orbit.. thought it has already launched a few other foriegn satellites with its launch vehicle previously those all were of small ones with limited scope and functionalities.... but this one is more than a regular satelite with tons of functionalities which made a break-thru in our space programmes.. ISRO got a great aplause from the entire nation.. not to mention thou from our President too... who is a major inspiration for such events...

the entire article featuring this launch is availble in the link

Tamil Cinema - current trend

the current tamil cinema field is going through a down time.. this is tough to believe but thats the truth . this is clearly visible from the new releases that happened for this tamil new year.. usually in a calendar year , the tamil new year is celebrated as a auspicious date for movie releases.. this is the trend i was seeing from my child hood days... but what happened this time... no big movies... infact the number of movies released for this most celebrated event is too less compared to the numbers in the past few years... lot of movies with big budget and senior hero's are in the line up - few to name... sivaji , dasavatharam , bhema , billa , etc..
hope after the release of these movies the current trend in the tamil movies will change... and to worse the situation , the remake trend is picking up too well now the almost 50 % of the movies we see these days are either dubbed directly or re-made in tamil from other languages... and with stars like Vijay and Jeyam Ravi ( Remake Ravi ) opting for remakes compared to own productions , lot others are following the same... lets hope this changes soon and we see more originality in these people and in our movies....

Sivaji - Update

by this time everyone wld hv heard the songs of SIVAJI... hope everyone likes it as i do... specifically the lyrics of the first song ( i believe its the intro for thalaivar ).. suriyano chandirano... thats my current ring tone in my new moto rokr e6...it really rocks with this ring tone :-)... now with the songs , lot of screensavers and wallpapers of the super star and the movie stills are available in the net.. for all those digital fans its definitely a big treat...
now most of the magazines are showing their creativity by publishing its own version of 'SIVAJI PUNCH' dialogs.. some of them are too comical as the original punch song in the movie... the smaller one among the 7 songs...

recently i saw Arunachalam in sun-tv , a good recap of our thalaivar's style and puch dialogs... with shankar's team we can expect more than that in this movie...

the latest update is that the movie is going to be released in mid of May..
the re-recording is almost completed. the sivaji countdown has begun...

more updates about the movie can be found at its original blog

My New Moto Rokr

HELLO MOTO .... ye my new phone rings this these days ... YES u guessed it... I got a new MOTO ROKR E6 mobile yesterday... though i m still analysing the features in it i thougt of putting my initial comments about this mobile.... the 2 major attractions that forced me to buy this model are the cute touch screen display and the reading feature where the phone reads your messages and other text stored in it...

jus to hight-light a few other features... 2 mega pixel camera , video & audio recording , MP3 player and FM radio , comes with 1 GB memory by default , blue tooth , gprs , large 2.4 in display , slim bar type ( my favourite compared to slide & flip models ) business card reader thru camera....... linux OS , intel processor , etc... the list goes on...

when i entered the mobile show room yesterday , i was in the plan of buying N73 music edition... but then i saw sony ericson walkman and cybershot models and then this motorola model..... after some analysis and discussion with the shop guys i came to conclusion of buying this...
the store guy explained me all the features in these models and gave me a comparision of features and performance based operations... after all this the motorola model came as the winner within my budget... it comes with sudoku , racing & cricket games as default. also this can read all the office documents. the head phone coming with this looks cute and has a great clarity. it has a good power saving capability too... the phone comes with a styluz ( stick to use the touch screen ) which can be placed in the slot provided at the back of the phone where it fits very nicely.

i have now copied some of my songs , videos , pictures and tested the clarity. everything looks good. also i have recorded both audio & video through the mobile and transfered the same to the system using the USB cable provided. even that clarity looks good for a 2 mega pixel camera.
let me try to put some more effort to test all other features in this tool....

as a proud owner , now i feel overall its worth the money i paid for this useful
PDA / Mobile / Camera / Player ( 18,000 Rs )

My First DOLLAR in ADSENSE

ha ha ha.... i m very happy to say that my earnings in adsense has crossed a dollar......
though it took a very long time - almost 6 months... its refreshing to see such encouraging numbers which motivates me to write more posts in my blog so that it increases the visitors and in parallel my revenue through adsense too.... thanks to all those who visited so far and helped me in getting this dollar...
But the sad part of this story is that the adsense will pay us only if our earning crosses 100 $... with the current stats it appears that i will touch this 100$ mark at the end of my life or may be its never possible.
Now i am setting a target of 6 months to reach this amount.. lets see how much effort i can put to acheive this target. one more thing i need to consider in this is adsense also provides 2 more features which i m not using. i am currently showing content ads only. i can also go for referals and search based ads too which can increase my revenue further... i will learn about them soon and will try that also in near future.... :-)

The BOSS

If the hollywood is crazy about BOND , the kollywood ( tamil industry ) is now crazy about BOSS. Who is the BOSS... yes you guessed it right... its our ultimate Thalaivar super star Sivaji... everyone is now expecting the much talked and hyped movie SIVAJI all over the world...
some interesting facts if you have not already read it some where else... this movie is bringing 3 biggies together ( Rajini , Shankar , AR Rehman) produced by the biggest tamil banner with all the best technicians in the industry... the audio has been released and its already proved that the movie is going to be a big hit... all the 6 songs are too good..... the audio cd comes with a 3D hologram poster of sivaji... just an addon for the fans... As a hard core Rajini fan i must admit that the intro song of Super star is damn good... i jus couldn't imagine the footage for it.. lets wait & see what our BOSS is going to say to this world... & hope it entertains all of us... thats the main motive of any movie infact... :-)

YARUKU CUPPU YARUKU AAPPU.....

i thought of posting my comments abt the ongoing cricket world cup ( 2007 )... the time i m writing this post , india is playing bermuda after its loss ( worst ever ) to bangladesh.. though india scored a world cup record highest total of 413 , it has to defeat bermuda now by a long margin and then again defeat sri lanka with a reasonable margin so as to qualify for the next round...

pora poka patha ennoda nambikai konja konjama koranjitte poguthu.... :-(

but still as a true indian i believe india can make it thru to the next round....
i always wonder , y india gets into this kind of situation , where its qualification not just depends on its perfromance , but on others too... today i saw the equation that will put india into the next round... more than 50% is depending on the other teams poor performances in the group than the best performance of indian team.....

lets c if india stays in windies or comes bak soon to give company to pakistan.... :-)
